Columbia Gas Leak Update: Full Power Restoration with All Homes Cleared for Return Expected by 7AM on Sunday, 09/16

Town of North Andover, MA
Dozens of Public Safety personnel are working through the night with utility workers to restore power to all homes and clear them for return by 7:00 AM on Sunday, September 16.
Currently more than 1180 of the roughly 1600 gas meters have been cleared and locked. The remainder are expected to be completed overnight.
Keep in mind that even though you may be able to return to your home, it may be a significant amount of time before your gas service is restored.
Do not turn your gas service on by yourself if it is disconnected. Call the hotline number for service restoration: 1-866-388-3239.
Call 911 immediately if you smell gas.

Columbia Gas Leak Update on Returning to Your Home:

Town of North Andover, MA
You may return to your home if:

  • You are on the cleared street list.
  • Power to your home has been restored even if your gas is still turned off.
  • Power and gas have been restored to your home.
  • You have been contacted directly by the utility company to return.
  • You are not a gas customer.
DO NOT:
  • Return to your home if none of the above applies to you.
  • Turn your gas service on yourself if it is turned off. Even if your home is cleared for return, do not turn your gas service on by yourself if it is disconnected. Call the hotline number for service restoration: 1-866-388-3239.
  • Return home if you smell gas or have other safety concerns – Call 911 immediately if you smell gas.

Columbia Gas Leak Updated Restoration Hotline Number (1-866-388-3239) and Instructions to Confirm/Expedite Your Home Being Cleared for Return

Affected Columbia Gas Leak customers, please use the new Restoration Hotline number: 1-866-388-3239.
If your home has not beencleared for return, please tape your contact phone number clearly on the door of your home to expedite restoration in addition to using the new hotline number. Do not enter your home. Return to a safe area and wait to be notified.
Most homes on the cleared list should have power restored. Newly cleared homes and streets may not have power restored immediately.
Even if your home is cleared for return, do not turn your gas service on by yourself if it is disconnected. Call the hotline number for service restoration: 1-866-388-3239.
Individual home owners may be contacted by the utility company to notify you when your home has been cleared for return.
All homes on a street must be cleared before the street is cleared and added to the list. Visit northandoverma.govto view the current list of cleared streets.
