Military Appreciation Weekend returns to Smolak Farms later this month. BAE Systems and the Red Sox Foundation are teaming up with the North Andover farm to host an apple-picking event for active-duty military personnel and their families. Nearly 400 military families attended the event last year. The weekend of family fun will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 15, at the farm, 315 South Bradford St., North Andover.
