North Andover Town Clerk to Temporarily Suspend Passport Processing and Notary Services 10/26 – 11/6

The North Andover Town Clerk's Office will not be processing passports or performing notary services from Friday, October 26th through Tuesday, November 6th due to early voting and election activities.    

Columbia Gas Conducting Odorant Testing in North Andover on Friday 10/26/18 #MVGasRecovery

Testing consists of opening the service riser to allow gas to flow through an instrument that is used to measure the level of gas odorant contained in the natural gas in the system.  During the odorant test, a service riser will be allowed to vent to the atmosphere to allow for the flow of gas.  It is at this time, the technician on site, will measure for the level of odorant in the gas. The testing will begin at 8:30AM at the first location noted below and then progress through the list as stated.

Drop off unused, unwanted or expired prescription drugs for safe disposal — North Andover, in participation with @NoAndoverPolice, is taking part in the DEA Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. #TakeBackDay

Drop-off you unused, unwanted, or expired prescriptions at one of our, North Andover Drug Take Back Sites on Saturday, October 27, 2018:

  • Police Station Lobby (permanent site, kiosk available year round)
  • First & Main Market Place, CVS parking lot, 109 Main St.
  • Walgreens parking lot, 800 Waverly Rd.

Accepted Medications are as follows:

  • Expired or unwanted prescription medications for you, a family member or pet
  • Medication from a deceased family member
  • Prescription patches
  • Over the counter medicines
  • Vitamins

Not Accepted 

  • Needles/Sharps*
  • Liquid medications
  • Thermometers
  • Medications for businesses or clinics
  • Aerosol cans
  • Inhalers
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Illegal drugs

*The North Andover Fire Department accepts sharps under certain conditions, if you have any you would like disposed of you will have to follow these guidelines. 

Items may be dropped off at the following two locations:

  1. North Andover Fire Headquarters located at 795 Chickering Road (24/7)
  2. The Health Department located in the town hall (120 Main Street) during normal business hours.  If you have any questions in relation to sharps disposal at town hall please contact: Caroline Ibbitson, Public Health Nurse (978) 688-9540

COLUMBIA GAS ROADWORK UPDATE for Wednesday, October 24th, 2018. #MVGasFire

The following areas are currently closed due to Columbia Gas roadwork:

Osgood Street is closed between Pleasant Street and Harkaway Road.
Main Street is closed at Elm Street for west bound traffic.  Detour signs are in place.
Additional road closure details are expected, we will provide information as it becomes available.  Road closures are subject to change throughout the course of the day.
