More than 2,000 dwelling units in North Andover lost gas as a result of the overpressurization of low-pressure gas lines on September 13, 2018. The gas to those units is scheduled to be restored by November 19, 2018, but most units do not have gas service today and won’t up until 19th (November). The town is implementing a multifaceted alternative housing plan for those at the greatest risk if the temperature drops dramatically. One of the options designed for families will be travel trailers. Eighty (80) travel trailers will be placed at Grogan’s Field. These travel trailers will have heat, hot water, and electricity. MEMA will staff the location to provide all necessary resources. An example photo of a travel trailer is attached. Please visit the Columbia Gas website or the town’s website for more information on how to arrange for alternative housing.
