With the forecast of heavy thunderstorms for this evening, and the past storm over the weekend, the Town of North Andover would like to remind residents to use care during storms. We recommend the following:
- Do not drive through standing or running water
- Stay clear of downed wires and limbs
- Charge your devices
- In the event of a power outage gather your medications, have flashlights handy
- If any electrical devices make contact with water (outlets low to the ground, consider them live) stay clear and call 911
- If you smell gas call 911
- In the event of an emergency call 911
- If you have flooded in the past, consider acquiring sandbags from a store
- Check sump pumps to make sure they are operating and clear any drains on your property
