Town Meeting Warrant Article of the Day

Article 24: Transfer funds from Free Cash to Fiscal Year 2020 School Department Revolving Fund

This article transfers $250,000 from Free Cash to the School Department’s Revolving Fund.  These funds represent a reimbursement that the Town receives for the Medicare expenses paid by the School Department in FY20.  This allows the School Department to receive and use that reimbursement.  The School-Based Medicaid Program (SBMP) allows local education agencies (LEAs), such as cities and towns, charter schools, regional school districts, and vocational/technical schools to seek cost-based reimbursement for providing medically necessary Medicaid services (direct services) to eligible MassHealth-enrolled children as well as administrative activities such as outreach and activities that support direct service delivery.
