Veterans Northeast Outreach Center & Massachusetts Military Support Foundation Food4Vets Bringing Food Drive to Merrimack Valley and the North Shore

Many of you may have heard about the very large and successful drive-through food distribution for Veterans at Gillette Stadium the past two weeks.  Many of you may have even participated. However, for many Veterans in the North Shore and Merrimack Valley areas, it has been out of reach. Beginning next week, Veterans will be able to benefit from the drive here closer to home!

Veterans Northeast Outreach Center in partnership with Massachusetts Military Support Foundation Food4Vets, is increasing the areas of assistance to Massachusetts Veterans experiencing limited access to food due to COVID19.  They will be holding drive-through food distribution events on Wednesdays beginning next week on April 22, 2020 in Haverhill.  These distributions will be held on alternate weeks at Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, and North Shore Community College in Danvers.

Similar to the Gillette Stadium food drive, Veterans will need to pre-register. If you are a North Andover or Boxford veteran and you are unable to pick up your food order please REGISTER and then contact me at or 978-688-9525 to arrange delivery assistance. Treasury Partners with Veterans Affairs to Deliver Economic Impact Payments to Veterans Automatically

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of the Treasury and IRS announced today that they are working directly with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to ensure Veterans and their beneficiaries who receive Compensation and Pension (C&P) benefit payments will receive their Economic Impact Payments automatically and without additional paperwork.

“Economic Impact Payments will be issued automatically to our Veterans and their families who did not file tax returns for 2018 or 2019,” said Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. “The Treasury, IRS and VA are working hard to ensure our nation’s heroes receive these payments quickly and without any additional action or paperwork.”

Many non-tax filing beneficiaries have already begun using the “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info” tool to provide basic personal information to receive their EIP. There will be no interruption to payments being processed using this online tool. Veterans with Internet access are encouraged to continue providing information.

For those who do not have access, or choose not to use the “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info” tool, their EIP will be processed with no further action required from them.
