North Andover Police Department Creates New Facebook Page with Significantly Improved Oversight
NORTH ANDOVER — The North Andover Police Department is returning to Facebook following an extensive audit of the access to and control of department social media.
North Andover Police deactivated its page on Facebook in April after a former employee who was not authorized to use the page posted a comment made to appear as if it was on behalf of the department.
Following that incident, the department deactivated the Facebook page, and today, is launching its new Facebook page, with proper ownership and administrative controls in place.
Community members are invited to follow the department on the new page, which is located here: https://www.facebook.com/NorthAndoverPD/
“The North Andover Police Department is deeply committed to engaging with our community, being transparent, and sharing our activities with our community. We are pleased that can return to sharing news in an open and professional manner,” said Acting Chief Stephen Diminico.
