Gas Restoration Project – During the week of August 17, 2020, the DPW staff had an on-site meeting with residents along Russell Avenue to discuss and collect feedback on proposed additional road and sidewalk restoration work taking place within the Contract 1 area.  In addition, survey work continues along Waverly Road within the Contract 2 area to assist with the engineering design for the restoration of the roadway and sidewalks.

Night work will be performed on the MassDOT Chickering Road-Massachusetts Avenue Intersection Improvement Project on Wednesday, August 26 into Thursday, August 27, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.   Paving will take place on Chickering Road and the east side of Mass Ave.

Night work will be performed on the MassDOT Chickering Road-Massachusetts Avenue Intersection Improvement Project on Monday, August 24 into Tuesday, August 25, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.   Paving will take place on Chickering Road and the east side of Mass Ave.  

As part of the annual roads program, on Monday August 17, 2020 through Wednesday August 19, 2020, the Town’s contractor will be starting to grind the existing pavement on the following sections of roadways:

•  Johnson Street between Johnson Circle and Marbleridge Road
•  Johnson Street between House No. 910 and Route 114
• Great Pond Road between the roundabout and Foxhill Road
• Chestnut Street between Andover Street and Longwood Avenue

Delays should be anticipated If travelling in these areas.

The next phase of the Playground Master Plan has begun!  Residents interested in providing input regarding the renovation of the playground at Aplin Field are encouraged to email Laurie Burzlaff at lburzlaff@northandoverma.gov.   Funding for the renovations was approved at Town Meeting using Community Preservation Funds. 

Gas Emergency Impact Area Road/Sidewalk Restoration Starting – April 14, 2020 (weather pending):  Public Works, with the help of the Town’s contractor PJ Albert, Inc., will be starting the road surface and sidewalks restoration under Contract #1 of the project.   Drainage repair work is scheduled to begin on Court Street and follow onto Osgood Street.  Residents should expect traffic delays or detours within this area.  Please see Town website (www.northandoverma.gov – projects tab – Gas Restoration Project) for project related information.
