Deadline for Notice of Project Intent Application for Community Preservation Committee projects is Friday, December 1st

The deadline to submit a Notice of Project Intent Application for Community Preservation Committee projects is Friday, December 1st.

Each year at Town Meeting, the CPC makes recommendations to fund projects in the following categories:

 ●  Affordable Housing

 ●  Historic Preservation

 ●  Preservation of Open Space

 ●  Recreation

Over the last 20+ years, North Andover taxpayers have funded more than $40 Million in projects throughout the community, including more than $12 Million in State Matching Funds.

The Notice of Project Intent Application serves as a pre-application review form for forthcoming Community Preservation Committee projects. This form is NOT required, however, it is strongly encouraged for first-time applicants, or other projects which may be complex in nature and require more dialogue with the committee. Applications may be submitted to cpcemails@northandoverma.gov before December 1st. Upon receipt, the committee will contact the applicant to add them to the agenda for the Pre-Application Meeting on December 7, 2023.

Funding for Community Preservation Committee projects is provided through a local tax surcharge and matching funds from the state. The public, Town government, and local organizations help determine how this funding is spent by proposing local projects that help to preserve community heritage, protect local resources, and foster the development of new resources. Each year the North Andover Community Preservation Committee offers funding for projects related to open space, historic preservation, recreation, and affordable housing. The Committee makes recommendations to Town Meeting, which votes on the funding.  Watch this presentation from the Committee to learn more about the investments in local resources that have been made with Community Preservation Act funds over the past 20+ years.

If you are interested in applying for funding, please verify that your proposed project is eligible. Learn more about project eligibility criteria here. Find grant applications and more information on the funding process at the Community Preservation Committee web page. Please feel free to reach out with questions to the Committee at cpcemails@northandoverma.gov.
