The Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon were bombed 40 years ago on October 23, 1983.  241 members of the United States Armed Forces – 220 Marines, 18 Navy Sailors, 3 Army Soldiers – along with 58 French Peacekeepers & 3 civilians died.  9 of those lost were from Massachusetts, 1 was from North Andover.  

North Andover’s own Cpl. Sean Gallagher was among those killed on October 23, 1983.  He was one week shy of his 21st birthday.  Please join us on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 9am as we lay a wreath at Cpl. Sean Gallagher ’s memorial in honor of his service and sacrifice.
