Article 27: Amend Zoning Bylaw – By adding Part 13 Inclusionary Housing Requirement
An Inclusionary Zoning Bylaw is one of many tools that a community uses to develop and maintain affordable housing units that are eligible to be included on the Town’s Subsidized Housing Inventory required by the state.
Any proposed project that included more than 7 rental or ownership housing units on a parcel or contiguous parcel shall include at least 15 percent of the total housing units as affordable units on the same site, at a different site or pay a fee toward affordable housing.
This bylaw aims to require production of high-quality dwelling units affordable to low- or moderate-income households.
