With the 9-1-2020 State Primary behind us, and the 11-3-2020 election soon approaching, the Town Clerk’s office is providing the following information.
Before submitting an application for a mail in ballot, please click here to see if you have previously requested one. Duplication of applications will cause extra work on the staff during an already busy election season.
If the status is pending, that means you have an application on file. As soon as the 11-3-2020 ballots become available from the State, we will begin the mailing of ballots to those currently in the system. We are expecting the ballots to arrive from the State later this month or early October.
Once the ballots are mailed, you can also use the link provided above to check on the date the ballot was mailed to you and when it is received back to our office.
Although vote by mail applications are due no later than October 28 at 5:00 PM, to ensure timely delivery of your ballot, it is recommended that you submit your application for a November ballot no later than October 20.
Election ballots that are returned by mail need to be postmarked no later than November 3 and must be received in the Town Clerk’s office no later than November 6. The Town is asking residents to return their ballots as soon as possible to allow for processing on Election Day. Apply early, in order to have enough time to return your ballot.
If you need the vote by mail application, you can download it here: It’s not too early to request a vote by mail ballot. By starting early, you give yourself AND our office ample time to complete the process.
Once you receive the ballot, please read and follow the instructions that are included with your ballot. When completing the ballot, please use a black or blue pen, fill in the oval completely, and be sure to sign the affidavit envelope. All of these steps will ensure your ballot will be processed without delay.
Applications can be mailed to 120 Main Street, North Andover, MA 01845, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, or dropped off in the Town Hall Business Mailbox located in front of Town Hall. If you do not have access to download the application, please email email@example.com to request an application. You can also send us a note with your signature requesting a ballot. The note with your signature will serve as your application.
If you have questions regarding vote by mail, or the election process, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
