Another Green Communities Project completed!

The Town recently completed the replacement of inefficient lighting fixtures at the Water Treatment Plant and certain sections of the Middle School. Thanks to a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources and rebates from National Grid, the project was completed at no cost to the Town and is projected to save the Town over $30,000 annually. The Town will continue  to replace these older, inefficient fixtures in other Town and School buildings over the next couple of years.
To date, the Town has received $436,797 in grant funds from the Department of Energy Resources, completing three lighting projects and purchasing 2 electric vehicles and a charging station all at little or no cost to the Town.
Please visit the Green Communities section of the website for more information.
