MOUNTS 55+ HEALTH FAIR
March 14, 2019 – The North Andover Senior Center today announced its annual 55+ Health Fair will be held on Monday, March 25 at the Senior Center, 120 Main Street (Rear), North Andover.
Doors will open at 9 a.m., and the event will continue until 2:00 p.m. This year’s theme is “Spring Into Action.” With presentations, activities, and exhibits geared to informing seniors how to thrive in a healthy environment.
“This is one of our featured yearly events that allows us to reach a large segment of our senior community with a variety of health-based programs aimed at making their lives richer and more productive,” said Lya Morse, NASC Programs Coordinator.
KEYNOTE ADDRESSES
The Senior Center is excited to announce that this year’s Keynote Addresses will be delivered by Susan Wornick, a long time television personality who has a long and rich history of community philanthropy and activism. The afternoon Keynote will be delivered by Sharon Johnson, Executive Vice President of the Hearthstone Institute.
Susan Wornick spent many years as the anchor of the evening news broadcasts on both WBZ –TV and WCRB, Boston.
Ms. Wornick will speak on the life-altering issues facing the care of aging parents. She will use incidents from her own family to illustrate medical and collegial advice that is available to caregivers and immediate family members.
The afternoon Keynote at 12:30 p.m. will highlight Ms. Johnson’s long career in the memory care and Alzheimer’s community.
In particular, the Keynote will detail the Hearthstone advanced memory-care programs centered around the “I’m Still Here” approach. The program is based on the belief that a person living with dementia can still experience a high quality of life.
INFORMATION FOOD and FUN
In addition to informative presentations on how to stay healthy as a senior, attendees will be treated to such calming activities as a 5-minute chair massage and free blood pressure screening, free hair stylist, to name a few of the hands-on presentations.
Nutritious lunches will be available for a modest fee.
There is no admission fee and attendees will walk away with door prizes, goodie bags, and exhibit giveaways.
