Girgentri Square dedication Thursday April 30th 4pm
From City Counselor Marc Laplante,
“Hello Veterans,
Thank you for attending the Gile Square rededication and the unveiling of the new sign. It was powerful to see so many of you attending. I know the family was moved by your presence.
The following is our next Lawrence Square Project:
PVT Joseph S. Girgenti
Killed in WW2 by friendly fire
Joseph S. Girgenti Square
April 30 (Thursday)
4pm
Intersection of General St and Allen St
I'd love for you to pass this to your networks, and perhaps I will see you on Thursday. Fortunately, there are very few of our Lawrence military who died from friendly fire. Sadly, Girgenti was one such casualty about 6 weeks after the D-Day invasion in France”.
