PRESCRIBED BURN NOTICE
The Trustees of Reservations, in partnership with the North Andover Fire Department and Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, will be conducting a prescribed burn at Weir Hill on June 4, 2019 (weather depending).
A prescribed burn is the controlled application of fire to the land to accomplish specific conservation and land management goals. Weir Hill’s south slope has burned regularly for centuries, and the properties woodlands and shrublands contain many rare species of plants and animals adapted to and dependent upon frequent fire. In applying prescribed fire, this partnership will reduce fuel loads and the risk of wildfire, provide training for firefighters, and perpetuate these rare natural communities. Prescribed fire is a natural, effective means for managing these habitats, and has been used successfully in Massachusetts since 1985.

Dear Neighbor,I hope all is well with you. As part of this weekend's Alumni Reunion festivities here on campus, on Friday, May 31, the College scheduled a fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. and ending at approximately 9:50 p.m. As required and previously done in the past, the College coordinated with the Town of Andover Fire Department to comply with all applicable rules and regulations for the fireworks display.We would be delighted to have you and your families join us for the fireworks display.
