NA Smart911 Alerts: Fire Update, 11/21/24

Sarah Brush
NA Smart911 Alerts
Good afternoon, this is a message from Chief John Weir.
Yesterday, the Town of North Andover declared a local state of emergency with some of our abutting communities due to the brush fires in town.  At this time, the brush fires in Boxford State Forest are largely contained, and we are thankful to DPW and our mutual aid partners who have helped us with infrastructure improvements to create the best possible containment lines.
With the wet weather, residents should expect increased smoke and haze in the area. If residents see flames close to structures they should call 911.  As we move toward the Thanksgiving holiday, we request that residents continue compliance with the fire ban, which includes fire pits and charcoal grills.

Trash and Leaf Pickup Update: November 14, 2024

Sarah Brush
The trash contractor has had some unexpected delays resulting in delayed trash and leaf pickups. Please keep all trash and leaf bags curbside for retrieval.

Please, only leaves in the leaf bags – the extra weight causes the bags to tear.
