My name is Jill Thorpe and live in Boxford. I’m reaching out to share information about purchasing tickets to the upcoming performance of The American Soldier, a powerful one-man show starring New York actor and playwright Douglas Taurel.
The performance will take place on January 29, 2027, at Masconomet Regional High School in Boxford, Massachusetts.
Through powerful storytelling, this moving production brings to life the experiences, struggles, and sacrifices of the men and women who have served our country. My hope is that this performance will deepen our appreciation for those who have worn the uniform, honor those who continue to serve, and remind us all of the true meaning of their sacrifice.
I would love your help in spreading the word about the show. Tickets for the public are $26; tickets for Veterans, Active Military and Seniors $21. Proceeds from the show are going to Tunnels to Towers.
Our military and veterans are near and dear to my heart as I dedicate the production of this show to the following.
- My late father, Jackson B. Silva, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
- My late brother-in-law, Owen F. McCann, served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
- My late father-in-law, Ralph P. Thorpe served in the U.S. Marines.
- My husband, James R. Thorpe served in the U.S. Air Force.
- My late uncle, Richard F. Silva, served in the U.S. Army.
