– North Andover Community Preservation Committee PUBLIC MEETING, Thursday November 13th, at 7:00PM
The North Andover Community Preservation Committee will be holding a PUBLIC MEETING on Thursday November 13th, at 7:00PM in the Select Board Meeting Room.

Each year at Town Meeting, the CPC makes recommendations to fund projects in the following categories:

● Affordable Housing

● Historic Preservation

● Preservation of Open Space

● Recreation

Over the last 20+ years, North Andover taxpayers have funded more than $40 Million in projects throughout the community, including more than $12 Million in State Matching Funds.

The North Andover Community Preservation Committee will be hosting a public meeting on Thursday, November 13th at 7 p.m. in the Select Board Meeting Room at Town Hall for residents to share project ideas as well as your thoughts on public needs, opportunities, and how Community Preservation Act funds should be invested. Your ideas and feedback on these topics can greatly help to guide investment in high priority community resources.

Funding for Community Preservation Committee projects comes from a local tax surcharge and matching funds from the state. The public, Town government, and local organizations help decide how these funds are used by proposing projects that preserve community heritage, protect local resources, and support the development of new resources. Each year, the North Andover Community Preservation Committee offers funding for projects related to open space, recreation, historic preservation, and affordable housing. The Committee makes recommendations to Town Meeting, which votes on funding.

If you are interested in applying for funding, please verify that your proposed project is eligible. Learn more about project eligibility criteria here.

Find grant applications and more information on the funding process at the Community Preservation Committee web page. Please feel free to reach out with questions to the Committee at cpcemails@northandoverma.gov

Strategic Plan Initiative Participation

Dear North Andover Community,

This fall, North Andover Public Schools is launching a comprehensive Strategic Planning Initiative to guide our district into the future. This plan will define our Mission, Core Values, and Vision; establish strategic objectives and initiatives; and ensure our schools remain focused on continuous improvement and systemic renewal.

The strength of our Strategic Plan will come directly from the voices of our students, staff, families, and community partners. To that end, we are seeking 20–25 members to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee.

Committee Composition

We are seeking representation from across the North Andover community, including:

  • Principals, Assistant Principals, and District Leadership

  • Teachers and Support Staff

  • Parents/Guardians

  • Students in Grades 10 and 11

  • Elected Town Officials

  • Up to two School Committee Members

  • Community Members (currently without children in North Andover Public Schools)

Meeting Dates and Times

Committee members will meet from 4:00–6:30 PM on the following dates:

  • Meeting #1: Tuesday, December 2, 2025

  • Meeting #2: Tuesday, December 16, 2025

  • Meeting #3 (Data Meeting): Tuesday, January 6, 2026

  • Meeting #4: Tuesday, January 20, 2026

  • Meeting #5: Tuesday, February 3, 2026

  • Meeting #6 (District Leadership Only): Monday, February 23, 2026

Commitment

We ask that interested members:

  • Complete the Interest Survey you will find here by Friday November 14th.

  • Commit to attending all meeting dates listed above.

All meetings will be held in person; there will be no virtual participation option.

Over the years, the success of North Andover Public Schools has depended on the broad-based involvement and support of our community. Once again, we invite you to share your perspective, expertise, and passion to help us chart a course for the future, one that ensures every North Andover student thrives.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve. Together, we will build a Strategic Plan that reflects our shared commitment to students, families, and the entire North Andover community.

Warm regards,
Pamela Lathrop, Superintendent of Schools
