Good afternoon, this is a message from Chief John Weir. Yesterday, the Town of North Andover declared a local state of emergency with some of our abutting communities due to the brush fires in town. At this time, the brush fires in Boxford State Forest are largely contained, and we are thankful to DPW and our mutual aid partners who have helped us with infrastructure improvements to create the best possible containment lines. With the wet weather, residents should expect increased smoke and haze in the area. If residents see flames close to structures they should call 911. As we move toward the Thanksgiving holiday, we request that residents continue compliance with the fire ban, which includes fire pits and charcoal grills.
Help donate new and unwrapped toys to give children a happy holiday season. The Christmas Toy Drive drop off location is Station 1 – 795 Chickering Road. Toys can be dropped off November 30 – December 14th. Please contact Lt Matt Davis if someone you know needs assistance.
