Veterans Upward Bound is a U.S. Department of Education program that prepares veterans for postsecondary education. Veterans Upward Bound Massachusetts is housed in Suffolk University, but serves veterans in Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Worcester county.
Thanks to another grant awarded by the Green Communities Division of the Department of Energy Resources and incentives from National Grid and Eversource, the Town was able to complete several projects in our buildings that will result in an annual savings of approximately $27,000. The Town replaced inefficient lighting fixtures at the Middle School, Stevens Memorial Library and the High School.The Town will continue the process of replacing these older, inefficient lighting fixtures at all Town and School buildings over the next couple of years. With this grant, which totalled $125,686.00, theTown also made weatherization improvements at the Library, Kittredge School, Sargent School and Thomson School. Thank you to Facilities Director, Stephen Foster, for his hard work and dedication to making our buildings as energy efficient as possible.
