Construction to Begin on Route 114 Corridor Improvements Project
Early construction activities begin Monday, April 27
Public Information Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 6
NORTH ANDOVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that early construction activities, including preparatory work, for the Route 114 Corridor Improvements project in North Andover are scheduled to start in late April, and will continue through the 2026 construction season.
Early work will include surveying, installation of construction signage, and site preparation activities, will begin on Monday, April 27. Tree protection and removal, test pit excavation, demolition of four structures at the intersection of Route 114 and Hillside Road, and center median work is expected to take place in mid-May.
Work will take place on Route 114 (Turnpike Street) between Waverly Road and Willow Street on weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Temporary weekday lane shifts and lane closures within the project limits are expected. Local access for businesses, residents, and emergency services will be maintained.
These operations and this schedule are weather-dependent and subject to change. Police details and appropriate signage will be deployed to assist traffic flow around the work zones.
Those traveling through the area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution. Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place.

The public is invited to attend an in-person Public Information Meeting for the project on Wednesday, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Merrimack College Arcidi Center, located at 20 Rockridge Road in Andover.
